I was invited to participate in “A Tour Through Blogland,” also known as “The Virtual Blog Tour Award.” When my nominator, Sally Georgina Cronin introduced me to this project, she peaked my interest. After all, I just published my memoir and am pretty excited to let others know of its soon release date.

Questions Section About My Creative Process

1. What are you working on at the moment?
   I’m doing my best to keep my blog site current, preparing for book signing events, reviews and interviews.
2. How does my work differ from others in my genre?
   “Running in Heels” chronicles more than just a change of circumstance. The story depicts a girl’s refusal to be defined by her environment as she seeks inner healing from brokenness that we are all longing for.
3. Why do I write/create what I do?
   I write that I might inspire, encourage, and inform.  I write because I know I have a story to tell.
4. How does my writing/creative process work?
   Concerning the book, from memories, either by conversations and/or photos. I jot down thoughts and ideas, feelings and beliefs on a subject and expand on them. Sometimes I would have to walk away and come back to it later.

Phyllis is a free-lance and sometimes contracted writer. Her articles have appeared in local, national, and international markets over the past thirty years. She is the author of Sentence CPR, Breathing Life Into Sentences That Might As Well Be Pushing Up Daisies, 2010, Cottonwood Press/Prufrock Press. Phyllis has taught for over thirty years and is currently a community college instructor in the Pacific Northwest where she teaches writing, effective learning, and college and career preparatory classes. Phyllis is a great encourager and a follower of Jesus Christ – my sister in the Lord!
