This video pulls at my heart strings. For at least 20 years, my theater students and I put on a Veterans’ Day program for our school. For me, this creation was a labor of love. One year, probably late 80s, one of my 8th graders sang “Taps.” Oskar Gonzalez grew up and served in the USMC. He now works downtown for homeless veterans. Many of my students have served and are serving. I am so proud of the man Oskar has become. I’m proud of them all.
